"Classic LA Happy Hours"

When life starts moving too fast and the days of the week begin to fly by in a blur that spins your head around like an amusement park ride, the best way to put the brakes on life in the fast lane is to stop, breath, and then hit up one of Los Angeles' fine happy hours, here every day of the week to bring you inexpensive cocktails, half-price appetizers and some room to breathe.

From Monday's grueling restart to humptastic Wednesday to the highly cherished Friday, every day of the week deserves a happy hour- and so do you. Here are the best in the city from Sunday to Saturday:

SUNDAY:

Sunday afternoons are meant for Bloody Marys. The $3 version served at the Cha Cha Lounge in Silver Lake all day Sunday until 9PM is the spicy slap upside the head you need to kick your week off right.

MONDAY:

Located in the middle of Hollywood on the Cahuenga corridor, Big Wangs is a loud and happening place. It's easy to see why- on Monpinkdrinksdays from 4PM to close, if you buy any pitcher of beer ($8 to $13), you will get a free one-topping pizza to enjoy along with it!

Do you like free nachos? Hit up Bar 107 downtown on Mondays during happy hour, and enjoy a complimentary cheesy plate. Happy hour runs every weeknight from 3PM to 8PM and features $3 well drinks and beer.

TUESDAY:

Tuesdays were made for tacos, and Don Chuy's Restaurant in Culver City serves pastor, carnitas, potato, chicken, asada or carne tacos for 99 cents all night long on Tuesday. Wash them down with $2 domestic beers.

Half-price bottles of wine on Tuesday nights keep things moving at shabby-chic Citizen Smith in Hollywood, along with the live jazz and delicious food. This chill hangout spot also offers half-price food on Mondays.

WEDNESDAY:

A block from the beach, El Texate in Santa Monica serves dollar tacos on Wednesday nights from 5PM to 11PM, along with their regular happy hour from 4PM to 7PM where you will find $3 beers, $3.75 margaritas and well drinks plus free appetizers!

THURSDAY:

Upscale steampunk joint The Edison offers their signature martinis for 35 cents (limit one) every Thursday from 5PM to 7PM, with 40% off the rest of the bar. Each week the Edison's mixologists create a new concoction for you to try!

Although Bar One's happy hour runs seven nights a week from 7PM to 9PM with $2 and $3 beer specials, on Thursdays at this NoHo location they sell 24 ounce Red Stripes for a mere $5, to go along with the skankin' live music of Reggae on Wax.

FRIDAY:

Get right into the weekend groove with the green fairy at Maison 140 Bar Noir in Beverly Hills from 5PM to 7PM, where you can try several different types of absinthe prepared traditionally or flambéed. Each taste of the emerald elixir is only $5.

Hitting up West Hollywood for Friday night? Saint Felix on the Santa Monica strip serves happy hour from 4PM to 8PM with half-off their extensive beer, wine and cocktail menu. A limited $5 happy hour food menu is also available.

SATURDAY:

Complete your week of happy hours at Tiki Ti's on Sunset Blvd; this popular and crowded bar pours it's most famous drink, Ray's Mistake, for a mere $5 on Saturday night from 4PM to 9PM. With the unique combination of botanic liqueurs, passion fruit juice, secret flavors and dark rum, this potent Polynesian cocktail will ensure you end your week with a smile on your face.
