Dear Love,

I chose to leave my comfortable WeHo hood this week to experience the warm sun and ocean view at, The Lobster. When I arrived at 4:30(the beginning of happy hour), the place was already jammed-packed. Luckily, my timing near the bar got me a small table for my friends and I. While waiting for their arrival, I couldn't help but notice the amazing view of the beach and the Santa Monica Pier. It seemed more crowded than Spring Break at Disneyland and was ideal for people-watching. I reviewed the happy hour menu to find $4 drafts and $6 wine/well/specialty cocktails.

For starters, we ordered the pork belly lettuce wraps, lobster corn dogs and the crispy calamari. All of them were a hit. For drinks, I ordered a white ale on draft, and off the HH menu, the "jefe" (boss) margarita. I felt like I was drinking summer in.

This happy hour hot spot never seems to rest, so be prepared to arrive as early as possible and scout out migrating tables. My advice, talk to the waitress and see if she'll help you out. But please, don't use the infamous, "I'll take care of you line." Every server will surely laugh it off.

Next, I'd recommend some down-time of digging your feet into the sand outside and watching the sunset. After all, The Lobster makes it easy for you to want to drink it all in.

XXOO,
Maren
