Grab Your Wine and Keep Cool. It's Time to Beat the Heat with Frozen Grapes!

Frozen Grapes to Keep Your Wine Cool #wine

Darn you, heat wave! Three days of 90 degree weather has been brutal, so I've been trying to come up with little tricks to keep things cool around my place. My boyfriend has been on an Amazon shopping spree and our place has become a "fan farm." The fans help, but keeping cool has become a full-time job. And then there's my poor cat; she wears a year-round fur coat.

As much as I love my red wine, I have become closer with white wine during the summer months. I tend to purchase my go-to Sauvignon Blancs, Rosés and the occasional Chardonnay or blend. I go as far as to pre-freeze my wine glasses to keep my wine cold longer and recently, I discovered a new trick that works, too. Frozen grapes! Frozen grapes are a great low-cal summer snack but they are also great for keeping your wine colder, longer.

White wine spritzers with ice are great as well, but frozen grapes won't dilute your wine if you want keep the wine's flavor integrity. Any grape works well, just pre-rinse them and place them (still damp) into to freezer and freeze them as you would with ice cubes. You can re-freeze the grapes once your glass of wine is finished or eat them. Now you and your wine can stay cool this summer, so get those grapes a freezin'!
