For my Great Gatsby-themed wedding this year, I wanted to make sure my drink menu reflected my flair for cocktail creativity and flavors, so I designed an 1920s style list of fun libations for my guests. I didn’t want to overcomplicate the options, so I chose some new and popular drinks as well as some simple and classic ones, too.

Great Gatsby Cocktail Menu

The first drink I chose to add to my menu was the classic Moscow Mule, but instead of calling it a Moscow Mule, I decided to name it The Millionaire Mule – an ode to one of my favorite literary characters, Jay Gatsby. Look, I’m not reinventing the wheel on this one. My Millionaire Mule cocktail is a classic Moscow Mule recipe with one small surprise; it’s SKINNY! Yes, my wedding guests will feel like a million bucks after sipping on one these babies and they’ll look cool too.

Volstead Vodka from Oregon.

To step up the presentation of this drink, I custom made some drink stirrers that displayed a variety of my wedding colors and then added some fun rhinestone bling and art deco washi tape to make it look even classier. If you want to step it the fancy factor another notch, you can order some custom art deco coasters with your wedding hashtag on it!

So, if you’re looking for a Moscow Mule recipe with a little less guilt, then this drink is for you. Simply switch out the full-calorie ginger beer with a diet ginger beer, like Bunderberg, then add some good quality vodka and fresh lime juice. I tried a Volstead vodka because it was pre-wedding gift from my sister that lives in Portland, Oregon and because I love the vintage style pink label. This drink ended up being a smashing success at our wedding but it can also be a great skinny spring cocktail option for you in general!
