Most of us have had a Jello shot at some point in our lives. For me, the sugary, jiggly, chilled shots were readily available at many of the college parties I attended and the most common flavors included cherry, grape or orange. I'd like to say I've outgrown my beginner boozy practices like beer bongs, appletinis and cheap, watery beer, but there's one nostalgic drink that has me buzzing again.
Ludlow's Cocktail Company has recently launched a line-up of classy jelly shots including Fresh Lime Margarita, Moscow Mule, Old Fashioned, Planters Punch and the Meyer Lemon Drop. Me, The Minty and Way of the Wong dubbed it an "amuse booze," after tasting a batch of the jelly shots at one of their recent pub crawls. Basically, it's a pre-party tongue teaser spiked with some craft cocktail inspired flavors. The Moscuw Mule shot we tried tasted pretty darn close to the Moscuw Mule cocktail served at Sadie Kitchen and Lounge in Hollywood.
