L.A. Slides into Spring with $1 Oyster Deals

Though we have the pleasure of eating oysters year-round, many Los Angeles restaurants and bars are ringing in the start of spring by offering $1 oysters during happy hour. For you fish lovers out there, now is the time to indulge in this delicacy for as inexpensive as it’s going to get.

Café La Boheme

Our first pick for this specialty happy hour is Café La Boheme (West Hollywood). Every day from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. they are serving $1 oysters with an apple ginger mignonette sauce. During these times, there are also wines and cocktails with reduced prices ranging from $5 to $8. Guests can enjoy happy hour in the comfortable lounge area or outside on the garden patio. Please note that if you decide to venture into the dining room, there is a strict dress code policy: no tank tops and no sandals. You may want to dress accordingly so you can enjoy all the beautiful areas of Café La Boheme as you please.

Green Hut Café

Another excellent place to enjoy happy hour is the Green Hut Café (Los Angeles). Right now they are offering $1 oysters everyday beginning at 3 p.m. The restaurant is open until midnight Monday through Thursday, until 2 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and until 10 p.m. on Sundays. The Green Hut has a variety of menu items, from burritos and tacos to sandwiches and salads. They also have vegan options available. But what’s better than one happy hour? Two happy hours, of course!

EMC Seafood and Raw Bar

EMC Seafood and Raw Bar (Los Angeles) provides happy hour from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. daily, as well as another happy hour Sunday through Thursday from 10 p.m. until closing. EMC’s happy hour includes $1 oysters and $5 house wine or draft beers. Their late night happy hour includes the same drink specials, but the oysters become $1.25 each. Whatever time you get to EMC, you are still sure to get quite a deal!

Pearl's Liquor Bar

Though not available as frequently as the previous happy hours discussed, Pearl’s Liquor Bar (West Hollywood) has started Oyster Tuesdays! Their $1 oysters on the half shell are served every Tuesday from 5 p.m. until they run out. Pearl’s also offers $3 glasses of Champagne to pair with your oysters - now that's a real deal aphrodisiac. To make sure you get a table as quickly as possible, Pearl’s suggests you call ahead for reservations.

The Churchill

If you can’t make it to Oyster Tuesdays, then Oyster Wednesdays at The Churchill is calling your name. This West Hollywood restaurant and bar offers $1 oysters every Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Unlike some of the oyster happy hours, Churchill’s provides three varieties of oysters to choose from. The types of oysters change depending on market availability at the time. If you get there before 6 p.m., you can enjoy $4 well drinks, select wines, and craft beers from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. while you wait to dive into some fresh oysters.
