Makin' it with Maren: The Summer Fling Cocktail Recipe

The Summer Fling Cocktail from

Summer Solstice is days away and so is my excitement for the upcoming season. To celebrate, I went shopping the other day and purchased some gorgeous fruit, including a massive ruby red grapefruit. I had planned on eating it for breakfast, but my creativity got the best of me that afternoon and I decided to make an at home happy hour drink instead. So I sliced it, juiced it and gathered some other cast members from my barsonal to make the perfect summer cocktail concerto: The Summer Fling.

This Gin and grapefruit cocktail is fruity, flirty and delicious and to make it even more appealing I added a Pixy Stix rim to the glass! It's super easy. Before you add the ice and liquid to your drink, simply empty out 5 red Pixy Stix onto a plate. Next, run a grapefruit wedge on the rim of you glass (this will make the Pixy Stix stick) and then twist the rim in the Pixy Stix granules until the entire rim is coated. Make sure to also peel the skins off your ruby red grapefruit before you juice them so you can use them for garnish twists on top of your Summer Fling drink.
