The Maleficent Cocktail for Halloween!

I'm so excited because today is the release of my "old school" favorite Disney version of Sleeping Beauty (1959). I can't tell you how long I've anticipated this movie to come out on DVD! Let's just say, it's my favorite Disney movie ever, and that's including all the movies they have released up until now…even against Frozen. So, in honor of the DVD/Blu-ray re-release of Sleeping Beauty and the Angelina Jolie blockbuster and Halloween, I've created The Maleficent cocktail for you!

Nigori Sake
Light Coconut Milk from Trader Joe's

Dubbed as Disney's most iconic villain, Maleficent was a very bad witch that placed an evil curse on Princess Aurora. Luckily, Prince Charming came along and kissed her out of her spindle-induced coma. And who can forget those adorable 3 fairies that took her in and raised her in the forest?! I loved them, too. The story of Sleeping Beauty never gets old; evil vs. good is always a compelling story and that's why they brought it back with the Angelina version (something tells me that they're going to be a lot of Maleficent costumes out there this year).

Well, whether you are dressing up as the evil Maleficent this year or your just a big fan of the movies, then definitely try my Maleficent cocktail! This drink is dark, purple, and can be intoxicating...boo ha-ha! It's also loaded with antioxidants from the blueberry juice and it's magnificent. Make sure that you shake the Nigori Sake well so it looks cloudy before you pour it. By the way, when I was in Chinatown last week at a market, I found this amazing garnish called a Devil pod or "bat nut" - doesn't it look just like Maleficent's head piece?! Amaze. Cheers, and don't forget to subscribe to my YouTube channel for more cocktail recipes and fun!

Here's my video recipe:
