Okay, so I know this is kind of last minute, but I just created the most amazing Fourth of July cocktail! While I should be out on a rooftop or beach somewhere catching the fireworks show, I am instead typing up a quick blog to share this fruity and fourth-inspired drink: Made in ‘Merica Mojito.
So of course I stuck with the red, white and blue theme and created a refreshing beverage for a hot Fourth of July day. This drink is basically a mojito with blueberries and cherries. Instead of rum, I used Veev and added the red color with some 100% cherry juice I purchased from Trader Joe’s.
Run a lime wedge around the rim your glass and then dip it in a plate of Cherry Fun Dip. Muddle blueberries and mint leaves in a cocktail shaker, then add Veev, simple syrup, lime juice and ice. Secure shaker top an shake for 10 seconds. Next, take of the top and add the liquid to a fresh glass of ice rimmed with Fun Dip. Slowly top off drink with soda water (this will help mantain blue-ish and clear-ish levels, so that when the the cherry juice goes in, you can really see the color intensity of the red - play Instagram video above!) and the shot of cherry juice. Give a quick stir, top with a spring of fresh mint and serve. Enjoy!
