I love pretty drinks! Can’t you tell? Ever since Valentine’s Day has come and gone, I’ve been focusing on pink-ish drinks with “femme” details. I’ve also discovered some new and fun liqueurs in the process of testing my new creations and in the middle of it all, I stumbled up a delicious mixture of all these elements! I call my new drink
Violet Femme and I must admit, I love sipping on this Prohibition-style cocktail while watching one of my favorite new television shows on Amazon,
Zelda.
If you’ve watched the show Zelda more than once, then you are probably addicted just like I am. Christina Ricci plays F. Scott’s Fitzgerald’s fashionable and fun wife, Zelda Fitzgerald. The 1920s power couple prances around from party to party drinking practically everything in the path, which seems in excess at times, but gosh they do it with such style!
My Violette Femme cocktail is made with vodka, Liqueur de Violettes (made from actual French violettes), Marashino Liqueur and fresh lemon juice. Yes, it’s a boozy cocktail, but it’s slightly sweet and easy on the tastebuds. To “jazz up” my drink, I served it a fancy gold-rimmed coupe glass and garnished it with an edible pansy – much like the look of a Violette flower. Very Gatsby, wouldn’t you say?
Impress your guests with this “Zelda” inspired craft cocktail and go glam with the details. Cheers!
