Summertime is here, and while we are still stuck social distancing, it’s best to make the most of what what this warm season has to offer: sun and watermelon! If you’ve ever seen
Dirty Dancing, then you probably remember the watermelon scene where Baby helps carry the ginormous melons upstairs and meets Johnny (Patrick Swayze). I always laugh when she awkwardly comments, “I carried a watermelon.” She is so embarrassed, and we are so embarrassed for her!
Anyway, when I spotted some giant watermelon at the grocery store the other day, I was inspired to grab one myself. But when I got home and started to cut it up, I hadn’t realized how much fruit it would yield. So much watermelon. What do you do when life gives you a lot of watermelon? Um, you guessed it:
Watermelon Margaritas! These fruity, summer tequila-spiked cocktails are the perfect cure for home quarantine!
This Watermelon Margarita recipe is so simple. Just blend up some watermelon in your blender, add silver tequila, fresh squeezed lime juice, agave, ice, shake and pour - and you’re all set. Oh, and if you play the song
Watermelon Sugar High by Harry Styles while you’re making these, even better.
National Tequila Day is July 24th, of course you’ll want a great tequila to go with your margarita. I chose Esponita Tequila because it is 100% agave, double distilled, delicious and I’m obsessed with the beautiful label! What are you waiting for?? Go get some watermelon and make yourself the best watermelon margaritas! Cheers.
