Cinco de Mayo Specials in Los Angeles 2013
May 1st, 2013

Cinco de Mayo is one of my favorite days of the year for me; mainly because it happens to be my birthday and also because a majority of Los Angeles comes out to celebrate it with me. This year, Cinco de Mayo falls on a Sunday and since I have a huge tech conference starting the next day at 8am, my best bet this year is happy hour - of course! Lovehappyhour.com has put together a combination of Cinco de Drinko specials all throughout Los Angeles, so come out this Sunday, May 5th, have a drink and let's celebrate! I leave you with some words of abused happy hour wisdom. Remember the tequila rule: 1 tequila, 2 tequila, 3 tequila, FLOOR!

El Carmen (Mid Wilshire): El Carmen, one of my favorite tequila bars in Los Angeles, will be one happening place on Cinco de Mayo with happy hours on Sunday, May 4th AND May 5th. They will host a late night happy hour from midnight to close on Saturday, and on Sunday their happy hour will reconvene from noon to 3pm. After that, El Carmen will have a visit from El Jimador’s Luchadore at 10:00pm and Sunday at 9:00pm. El Carmen has recently added organic chicken and grass feed beef to their menu, plus updated their jukebox. And speaking of music, they will have live mariachis on Sunday from 2pm - 5pm. I will be here on Sunday for my birthday (for the happy hour), so stop by and say hi!

Mercado (Santa Monica): Mercado in Santa Monica is hosting a Cinco de Mayo fiesta with ALL day specials including: $3 Carta Blanca, $4 Dos Equis, $7 Partida Blanca (tequila) margaritas, $9 Partida Reposado Margaritas and $7 Appetizers, including their delicious Carnitas Tacos. Doors open early at 2pm and close at 10pm. To learn how to make Mercado's fabulous margaritas - check out the recipe!

Festivities go from 1pm to 10pm, and I'm pretty sure this party is a guaranteed good time.
